Mahwish Ahmed is a practicing multidisciplinary visual artist who has lived in different corners of the world, her work revolves around the creative process that explores the embodiment of experiences as fragmentations, connections and relationships between cultures, space and environment around her.
She exhibits her experience of chronic illness and the influence of several cultural backgrounds. Her creative practice includes working with various mediums, including printmaking, photography, videography, sculpture and installation.
Ahmed was born in Pakistan, spent her childhood in the United Arab Emirates, and then moved to Calgary. She is an active community volunteer in different organizations around Calgary.
